Free e-Book: The Complete Introduction to Tongue Fu Talking®

Discover how oracy can transform learning.
Oracy is the ability to speak and listen effectively for learning, communication, and participation. It is not a by-product of classroom talk—it must be taught deliberately and progressively. When taught well, it helps pupils think aloud, reason together, and express ideas with clarity and confidence across every subject.

Tongue Fu Talking® makes that possible. It’s the complete oracy framework that turns theory into practice, giving teachers a clear, systematic approach to teaching talk just as deliberately as reading and writing.

This beautifully designed free e-book gives you:

  • A full overview of the Tongue Fu Talking® framework: its belts, disciplines, and teachable practices

  • Insight into how deliberate teaching of oracy strengthens learning and thinking

  • Sample resources straight from the classroom library—ready to inspire confident, articulate learners

Bring clarity, structure, and purpose to classroom talk.
Download your free e-book today and see how Tongue Fu Talking® makes the art of speaking and listening truly teachable.

The Tongue Fu Talking materials and resources have been very helpful. The staff have watched part of the CPD video, following an introductory session that I led using the materials. I set questions to ensure that they were engaging with the video. We have implemented aspects of 'stance' into our poetry reading lessons. We have also added 'but, because, so' sentence work as part of our 'check for understanding' tools across foundation subjects.

Our Oracy Inset day, based around Tongue Fu Talking, was well received with much enthusiasm evident. Teachers are finding the resources accessible and easy to incorporate into our provision. Already, it is evident within the classroom that, thanks to our initial steps to implementing the Tongue Fu Talking System (including the really useful 12-month implementation plan), the importance of Oracy is at the forefront of our thinking when planning and teaching.

I really enjoy using the Tongue Fu website and the oracy and metacognition strategies it offers. It provides a wealth of high-quality resources that are not only useful but also exciting and engaging. Everything is clearly laid out, making it incredibly easy to navigate and find exactly what I need. The way the scheme pulls everything together is fantastic- it gives a clear structure while still allowing flexibility. It’s obvious a lot of thought has gone into making it practical and enjoyable to use. I highly recommend it!

Our recent Tongue Fu Talking launch went really well - I followed your suggestions exactly and everyone was fully on board. Staff have already started using it in lessons and weaving it into our school culture. Thank you.

It was fantastic to hear about how a system should be embedded within a school setting. I loved hearing about Tongue Fu Talking and am extremely interested in purchasing for the next academic year. 100/100!
